Some beauty products that I have been reaching for, more often than not, this winter are Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, L’oreal True Match Lumi Glotion, Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer with Multi-Action Super Lotus, Exuviance CitraFIrm Face Oil, and Origins Ginzing Eye Cream. I don’t know about you, but my skin needs some extra love in the Winter season. My skin just seems to cry out for moisture. I am really loving these products and the healthy radiance they give.
Skin prep is key! I have found through experience that prepping your skin before applying makeup helps the makeup to sit better and look better. I start out with Origins Ginzing Eye Cream. I purchased this at Sephora. It retails for $34.00 USD. It comes in two colors: Warm and Original. I have it in Original. I gently apply it to my under eye. What I love about this product is the glow it gives your under eye. Like that bright eyed bushy tail kinda look. After that I drop a couple of droplets of the Exuviance CitraFirm Face Oil in the palm of my hand, and then gently press it into my skin. If I have enough time, I get my Gua Sha tool out and apply a few upward strokes to help promote blood flow and give a little lift to the skin. This face oil can be purchased at Ulta and retails at $72.00 USD.
Now, it’s time to moisturize. I typically have an oily t-zone, but in the wintertime my skin is a bit on the drier side. I grab the Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer with Multi-Action Super Lotus and put a small dot on my cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. What I love about this product is how soft my face feels afterwards. This is available at Sephora and retails at $52.00 for the larger bottle, and $21.00 for the smaller bottle.
After the skin has been prepped it’s time to put on makeup. I like to put the L’oreal True Match Lumi Glotion on first as my primer. What I love about this product is the glow it gives your skin; like you’ve been basking out in the sun. I don’t apply a lot. I put a dot on my cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. The best part is it’s only $11.49 at Target. It comes in four different shades: Fair, Light, Medium, and Deep. I chose Medium.
Now, I have seen all the hype for this foundation from other beauty bloggers that I follow, and I will have to admit I was the last one to jump on the bandwagon for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, but I’m glad I did. It isn’t a heavy foundation and sits well on the skin. In my opinion it gives a healthy glow without looking like an oily mess. It is buildable and I haven’t noticed it wear off in certain areas. I have had issues with other foundations wearing off in my t-zone. My shade is 5.2 and can be purchased at Sephora for $65.00 USD.
