Art, Music, and Friends, what could get any better than that? We attended the Amon Carter Museum’s 60th Birthday Bash and it was a night to remember! We thought it would be fun to get some friends together and have a group date night that was different from our norm. When we found out that one of our favorite artists Shakey Graves was going to be performing at this birthday celebration we knew we had to go and check it out.
You know a party is legit when they have a whole fleet of food trucks and a DJ outside of the facility. We ate, drank, listened to music, and looked at some really cool art.
It was really fun touring the museum with friends and seeing the amazing artwork on display. We were able to take a tour of the library archives. It was very interesting to see how much additional art and information is stored behind the scenes. One of the coolest parts is that you can curate your own collection. All you have to do is contact the library archives at Amon Carter and let them know what you are looking for and they will have it prepped and ready for your viewing pleasure. Our tour guide was very intuitive and gave some background history of the art work displayed in the exhibits.
After perusing the different galleries, we went outside to the front lawn for the concert. Of course Shakey Graves didn’t disappoint. The weather was beautiful so it made the concert even more enjoyable.
We ended the night with a breathtaking fireworks display set to music. If you haven’t been I highly recommend visiting the Amon Carter Museum.
